As a minor point, I think it is developing that he will claim he pulled back the hammer and let it go before it locked into trigger control. I think that is how he is now saying that he never pulled the trigger, an otherwise absurd assertion.

I keep tossing this around in my head.

His father actually taught riflery. I'm sure from the time Alec was a little boy, he was taught NEVER to point a gun at someone. I'm also betting that his father took him to the rifle range. He said he was very close to his father. Bet his dad had a nice gun collection, too.

And the second item I toss around is the fact that "RUST" is about someone who accidently kills someone. (The secret is in the script).

The fact that he co-wrote the script and picked out the gun he wished to use.

Would like to see the script that has the directions/notes.

And that story won’t fly since that particular model won’t do that unless it malfunctioned/damaged.

Pulling back the hammer is part of the process of firing a single-action gun. You don’t pull the hammer back at all if you don’t intend to fire the gun.

I don’t think the jury will buy his excuse.
