Why do America’s teachers want to smother America’s children?

In Democrat cities across America, the word is out: It’s time for masks to go...except on children. Teachers’ unions are adamant that it’s just better for those kids to keep hiding their faces.

...

As you contemplate the unions’ adamant stand about masks on students, consider that children almost invariably experience COVID as a mild cold (“Data collected by the American Academy of Pediatrics shows that just 0.1% to 1.5% of child COVID cases resulted in hospitalization and 0.00% to 0.01% resulted in deaths”) and they’re unlikely to infect others. Consider, too, that children by nature hate having their faces covered, don’t detect emotions well from covered faces, have speech delays, get their masks filthy, and are more likely than adults to engage in activities requiring lots of oxygen (it’s called playing).

Given all that, why are teachers, the people who profess to love our children, so determined to keep students muzzled? ...

Perhaps the mask has taken on a totemic significance for them. Over the last two years, they may have come to feel about masks as Victorian ladies felt about corsets or Tammy Faye felt about fake eyelashes: naked and vulnerable without them.

Teachers are, of course, welcome to feel this way about masks. What they’re not welcome to do is subject kids to the true torture of being muzzled all the time, living in fear (exacerbated by the sense of low oxygen), and unable to get a handle on the emotional temperature of those around them—and all for nothing. If teachers are so paranoid about seeing their students’ faces, they shouldn’t be teaching. It’s time for them to go...far, far from the classroom.

Any teacher that wants to put a face diaper on a child should be fired and never allowed to teach again. On one level it is child abuse, on another level it shows how utterly ignorant and uneducated teachers are. There is zero science that indicates that wearing mask does anything to stop the spread of the ChiCom Plague. There is science that says wearing masks for a prolong period of time is detrimental to you health. I expect my grandson to be taught by someone that actually has an IQ above room temperature. That excludes that vast majority of teachers.

They don’t! It’s the teachers union and politicians who want the kids to be pawns. The teachers are simply useful idiots….

This scamdemic gave the education mafia a small window to excuse their failure to educate children; I expect they would like to prolong it as long as possible. People during rough economic times examine how their tax dollars are spent, and when they see the upper-middle class teachers’ caste rewarded for doing nothing/achieving no results it burns them.

It is NOT the teachers ... it is the administrations. Teachers just want to teach. Administration and government regulations make them do all the extra things. Probably the main reason that people don’t stay in a teaching career very long (except for the union thugs).

Teachers here in Texas are tired of the masks ... especially the early elementary students and those in ESL. Seeing how the mouth moves helps these kids learn to read and speak properly. The masks are hindering their growth.

” . . . Perhaps the mask has taken on a totemic significance for them.”

As I see it, this is an issue of power and control. Many union members and officers are dyed in the wool Democrats, Progressives and Leftists. But, they also are significant contributors to political candidates. By demanding the mask edicts be enforced, the unions are sending a message that continued political support comes with a cost - and the cost here is bowing to the unions exercise of power over helpless children. It seems to be the way in which the unions can demonstrate to their members that they have power to influence events in real time.

They are protecting their members’ jobs against the wrath of taxpayers (who know they buy nothing with education dollars); the teachers’ unions already own the Democratic Party (it is their political arm).

When I was a kid I thought that teachers got into the business because they hate children. Most of them were abusive and were very stupid. I had teachers that couldn’t spell, do simple math, etc. Now that i’m an adult, I still believe they get into the business because they hate children. It’s only gotten worse.
