Check out the Cathedral of St. Don Peppe in New Haven - May just be your place (stay away from the franchised offshoots in Yonkers or any other place).

Best pizza in NJ is La Sorrentina in North Bergen. I am still also a fan of the ultra thin bar pie at Star Tavern in Orange.
