Delegation is not an excuse. The buck still stops with him. Omarosa Kavanaugh Cohen Pence. Pretty much every major pick by Trump has (according to this place) been a disaster. Even diehards like Bannon have ‘backstabbed’ him again according to here. And even though it was apparent early in his term he still kept picking guys who turned on him. 2016-20 has been fun but for 2024 we need someone who can assemble a team with less drama. Maybe DeSantis. Trump can still be a kingmaker.
You act as if another GOP contender would appoint different people to those roles than Trump did. No offense, but that’s delusional. Any cabinet appointee has to be confirmed by the U.S. Senate, so the president has no independent authority to select his own cabinet.
DeSantis seems a good guy, but I doubt he could withstand the onslaught that Trump endured. I doubt anyone else could.
