Truth Social will need to change if they want more users.

They require a download and an account instead of letting users view posts from others, especially online.

I can view Twitter posts without an account, why not Truth Social posts?

Is anyone actually on Truth Social? It took me a week to get to the point of being on a huge waiting list. Meanwhile I get no fewer than half a dozen money begging emails from them daily. Not a good look.

As an unsubscribed user, I used to read a Tweet, and then the rest of the tweets on the page, approximately 30. About 1.5 months ago, a Twitter log in screen started popping up, and I can no longer read. They pop up before I’ve read the 2-3 response tweets. Blasted Twitter!
I heard Truth Social will be on PCs soon. If true, maybe then we can read the TS truths (trying to come up with a name for them).

I think this will probably end up as more a place for Trump supporters to talk amongst themselves. I suspect most people will see it as a “special interest group” type thing rather than something apolitical and generic.
(Something like how denominations have forums online - Catholic, Baptist, Methodists, etc.)
Maybe it’ll catch on bigtime across the board and rival existing socials, though it would surprise me if it were to do so.
It would be nice if something were started by free speech advocates who have no other axes to grind or ulterior motive outside of protecting 1st Amendment/speech.

Because it would be inundated with attacks by BIG Social Media whose sole purpose would to disrupt free exchange. The requirement for an account is just a way of keeping track or at the minimum have a means to identify how much interference there is. It isn’t foolproof because there still would be a lot of fake accounts set up but it’s a start, IMO.

Excellent point. To paraphrase Nanzi Pelousy, "You have to sign up to find out what's in it."

How many Free Republic members lurked for a while before signing up? I would say very close to 100%.

You can do that on Twitter because Twitter is Deep State.

It's not really up and running and you are giving Trump advice on how to "get more users".

Some people are never satisfied. You might be right, but give it a chance.
