Musk's tweet calling for more fossil fuel production was retweeted roughly 20,000 times in 30 minutes
Tesla co-founder and CEO Elon Musk called on the United States to increase its domestic oil output in response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, while also acknowledging that his electric car company would be negatively affected by that move. "Hate to say it, but we need to increase oil & gas output immediately," Musk tweeted Friday. "Extraordinary times demand extraordinary measures."

If you ain’t ridin’ with Biden, you’re rootin’ for Putin.
Sure, but that doesn’t show the reopening after covid crap. Gas was always gonna rise after falling off a cliff with covid.
We have a diesel pusher and take an annual 3 week, 1000 mile, trip to Florida parks each summer. As much as I’ve increased our fuel budget over the last few months, by the time we leave in June, I fear it still won’t be enough.
Yeah, I remember Winnebago got crushed in 2008. Rough times ahead for those industries.
I ain’t ridin’ with either. They can both go to Hell.
Works for me.
Tis a statesman. He should be offered a cabinent post in a Trump or Desantis administration.
We had a bumper pull during that time and wanted to upgrade to a 5th wheel. As fast as I could collect info on various floor plans and brands the manufacturers would go under. I also recall in 2008, when we took the 5th wheel on her maiden voyage to the keys, feeling sick at over $5 a gallon; who’d think we’d be there again!
.
Blinken told Moldova that energy independence was essential to maintaining independence
i wonder if he told joe
I think it was to replace the heavy crude from Mexico in southern US refineries.
Cash price at my local Chevron station is $5.39.
Don’t know where you’ve been Theoria, but gas was always in the $2.00-2.50 range during DJT’s time in office. There was no “falling off a cliff” with covid.
Prices took off after Brandon assumed control and killed Keystone. And that was just the beginning.
Musk is quite right, but dementia Joe and his greenies will have none of it. When gasoline is nearing $5 pallor before the fall elections and people are still in shock from their winter heating bills and the summer blackouts maybe they will vote the Democrats out of office. While I expect a GOP sweep of Congress in the fall, the RINO leadership and the likes of Mitt Judas Iscariot Romney could likely do little but slow the destruction of America Biden has started.
... Teslas require a lot of oil too. Plastics are all over their vehicles. Gas provides quite a bit of the power their vehicles (and factories) run on. Gas/diesel is how their cars are shipped around the country. What runs the mines where his precious lithium is dug, the facilities where it is refined?
There currently is no incentive to produce more. If there was, domestic production would skyrocket, currently Devon, Pioneer and Continental are keeping production flat and returning value to shareholders. 'They' lost money under the shutdowns. Gas was always gonna skyrocket with the massive spending under Trump and Biden.
Also, his Falcon 9 rockets, which has been launching weekly, use kerosene as a fuel, while the Starship, which will launch whenever the FAA, FCC and whatever other government agencies which choose to involve themselves are satisfied, uses liquid natural gas.
It’s too bad that Elon is such a socialist.
I admire him greatly except for that cranial density.
these claims that increasing domestic oil and NG production somehow hurt Tesla are complete nonsense ... where in the hell do people believe the electricity to run Teslas come from ... Unicorn farts?
Well, I must be riding with Putin because my car runs on gas and I CAN’T AFFORD AN ELECTRIC CAR WHICH RIDES ON COAL.
