Several Russian banks said on Sunday they would soon start issuing cards using the Chinese UnionPay card operator's system coupled with Russia's own Mir network, after Visa and MasterCard said they were suspending operations in Russia.
Announcements regarding the switch to UnionPay came on Sunday from Sberbank (SBER.MM), Russia's biggest lender, as well as Alfa Bank and Tinkoff.

I think we should have a moratorium on Chinese imports if they are going to partner with Russia. We need a leader in America, not a ice cream eater.
The US needs to immediately sanction Unionpay and the People’s Liberation Army, and any business that is tied to it. Destabilize the Chinese economy amd government and Russia has no where to turn to. It also stops China from invading Taiwan. (I also move carriers and troops over there).

We’re still buying oil amd commodities from Russia. It’s going to take Congress passing sanctions to cut that off (Looks like that’s going to happen and it will be veto proof) Same goes for the EU.

The Russians and Chinese already have an assumed new Ribbentrop/Molotov deal as they stand by and cheer each other’s naked aggressions. NATO outspends Russia 20-1 militarily now. You and I will bankroll the new Cold War arms race for NATO in Eastern Europe, just like all of them since 1949 (after we bankrolled WWII). Where will the Russians get their trillions to keep up? Who could have ever seen this coming? The West has forced Russia to go to China, hat in hand, looking for help and an anti American alliance. Russia will immediately become a client state of the CCP doing China’s bidding on the European continent. When the new arms race bankrupts NATO or destroys it in WWIII who will be there to pick up the pieces? GD CCP, that’s who. This Chinese ploy is more brilliant than their Covid western society reset gaslighting. Incredibly, the Chinese are using the exact same disinformation campaign, with the help of their lackeys and fellow travelers in the West, to accomplish this.
Well, that would crash our economy hard - with devastating consequences for the party "in power" at the moment. So if somebody can talk Joe into it, they are welcome to try. :)
The West hasn't even really cut Russia entirely out of SWIFT yet. That was political theater, because the Germans can't afford to go that far.
