I have a son and granddaughter currently active Army. 2 grandsons are already signed for the end of summer.

As a 24 year veteran myself. I understand you go when called. That doesn’t mean we ever wanted to go led by the likes of senile Joe.

He is a corrupt, pedophile dolt.

Ukraine dammed up a canal off the Dnepra River which feeds 86% of drinking water to Crimea.

Assuming that is true, if your neighbor stole your car would you still pay for the gas to keep it running? Answer truthfully, I suspect you wouldn't.

If Russia had not seized Crimea then there would not have been a water issue.

Turkey will initially benefit but are the competent to benefit in the long run.
I say No!

Nobody wants to go to war. MacGregor wants us to cut off the supply of arms to Ukraine to hasten their loss and destruction.

There is a huge difference in those actions. It is similar to the difference between refusing to send more people into the burning building because of the danger and shutting off the water at the hydrants to quicken the end of the firefighting efforts.

Not sending troops is a reasonable decision, cutting off supplies to an allied nation to hasten their defeat is in reality a way of joining the attacker in their attack.

Who thought in 1945, China within a few years would become a bitter enemy?

I also remind you that Japan was an ally in WWI.

Yes I know all of that.

Regarding China, even Nationalist China viewed its western Allies with considerable suspicion !

“What the hell are you blabbering about?”

I’m talking about someone who would surrender to tyranny. Nothing more.

Get it, Sparky?

Sevastopal is in Crimea and Ukraine’s flirtations with Nato caused the annexation. Russias largest Naval base was not going to be infringed on. Over 90% of Eastern Ukraine Russian Speaking residents were in favor of becoming part of Russia. My ex is from Kherson, I have friends writing me from Odessa every day and I have spent a total of 2 months there on 7 different occasions. I pay attention...

Oops!

I see what happened. I thought you were saying that MacGregor was saying:

“Ukraine is part of Russia, we are one people, etc.”

Sorry about that. That is definitely Putin.

Well isn’t that special. You’re not the only person here who has visited the area, bubba. You wanna have another vote? I don’t think so. Only the terminally insane want to governed by murdering Putinists when given the choice.

“Only the terminally insane want to governed by murdering Putinists when given the choice.”

That is simply not correct.

However, you would have to read “forbidden media” to learn about what people in Russia really think about Putin.

Most Russians (last number I saw was 70%) consider Putin a Russian patriot and fully support him.

“It’s not 1776...and it’s not our fight...”

What the hell does that have to do with my comment? All I said was MacGregor would surrender to tyranny (which our forefathers fought against in 1776). That’s it. My comment had nothing to do with the Russia-Ukraine War being our fight or not being our fight.

I swear, there seems to be a lot of FReepers lately who assume facts not in evidence, who drop non-sequiturs like chaff, and who appear overly anxious to create controversy.

I watched this yesterday. The colonel is pretty accurate in his assessment. The Russians are working their operational plan pretty much at will. Zelensky needs to get to the negotiating table before there’s nothing left to negotiate.

NATO's long term strategy to encircle, strangle and subjugate Russia is two-faceted.

That's never been a long term strategy of NATO. It's ridiculous on its face. "Encircle"? Just take a look at a map - Russia stretches all the way to the Pacific. It's border is nearly 36,000 miles long, and most of that doesn't even border on NATO. How the hell could NATO possibly "encircle" Russia?

"Strangle"? The exact opposite was happening for the past 30 as Russia's economy was becoming more integrated with that of the rest of Europe, especially in terms of energy. Prior to Russia deciding to invade Ukraine and set off sanctions, where was there any effort to "strangle" Russia? And why would anyone have any interest in that?

And "subjugate"? Seriously? What actions did NATO ever take to "subjugate" Russia? Nobody had or even has a shred of interest in conquering Russia. If Putin truly would have feared that, he would never have invaded Ukraine and risk NATO intervention at all. The only reason he invaded was because he was sure that NATO would not start a war, which is the exact opposite of what you'd expect from an alliance whose goal was to "subjugate" Russia.

You've bought a bunch of Russia propaganda hook, line, and sinker.

It is war—the rule always is that “no war plan survives contact with the enemy”.

Or as Mike Tyson once put it, “Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.”

I don’t recall MacGregor saying he would surrender if it was 1776...so that’s you assuming facts in evidence...maybe you need to think before you write statements like that.
