Finland is, Sweden well no not like Finland.

Finland shares a long Arctic to semi-Artic border with Russia. Sweden is just a short hop across the Baltic.

I think the “threat” was made for two reasons.

Sweden has a long history of “armed neutrality”. Note they only want you to think they're a bunch of pussy pacifists! They actually had a nucear weapons program that ran up into the 1970s.

Finland due to treaty guarantees made at the end of WWII.

I didn’t realize Finland wrapped around and met Russia.

Look, you can’t march on your neighbors and take them over
and then expect your neighbors not to want an alliance to
protect themselves.

Putin is his own worst enemy. People know what he has been
up to.
