he Democrats will suffer historic losses in the November midterms.
This disaster for their party will come about not just because of the Afghanistan debacle, an appeased Russian President Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine, the destruction of the southern border, the supply chain mess, or their support for critical race theory demagoguery.
The culprit for the political wipeout will be out-of-control inflation - and for several reasons.
First, the Biden Administration is in such denial of inflation that it sounds to Americans simply callous and indifferent to the misery it has unleashed.
Biden officials have scoffed at price spikes as "transitory." Or they have preposterously claimed spiraling costs are a concern only to the elite. They blame the Ukraine crisis. Or they fault the out-of-office bogeyman, former President Donald Trump.
The administration assures us that consumer prices are only rising at an annualized rate of 7.5% - as if the steepest increase in 40 years actually is not all that bad.
Yet the middle class knows that inflation is far worse when it comes to the stuff of life: buying a house, car, gas, meat, or lumber.
Second, inflation is an equal opportunity destroyer of dreams. It undermines rich and poor, Democrats and Republicans, conservatives and liberals. It unites all tribes, all ideologies, all politics against those who are perceived to have birthed the monstrous octopus that squeezes everything and everyone it touches.

(The Democrats will suffer historic losses in the November midterms)
Yeah.
If we don’t have World War IV before then.
🤔😬😳
Exactly
$3.50 a gallon! When Biden took office, it was $2.00 a gallon. Good thing most of my driving centers around on my 10 mile daily commute.
I notice inflation in all of my bills and food purchases, too. It's adding at least $500 a month out of my pocket.
“The Democrats will suffer historic losses in the November midterms.”
I like Victor Davis Hanson a lot. But exactly how is the above scenario gonna happen when the stolen election of 2020 has never been properly investigated or corrected?
The Democrats will NOT suffer historic losses in the November midterms.
Well they will have 100% of the senior home vote, like Wisconsin revealed yesterday, and how about the millions of ballots that will be mailed out and the court cases now being won by democrat scumbag lawyers to change redistricting laws,to throw out republicans like Madison Cawthorn.
The democrats are diabolical folks, this democrat wipeout prediction should be taken with a grain of salt.
The fraud will be the only massive item in this election
Let’s save ourselves the trouble and just hang all the Democrats.
I would argue with Hanson that inflation is NOT an equal destroyer of dreams for rich & poor alike.
Inflation directly takes food from the poor, while the rich routinely pay inflated prices for homes, cars, jewelry, etc. Inflation is devastating for the poor while it is a rounding error for the rich.
Second, inflated prices rarely go back to where they were before. They are the new normal, while paychecks rarely increase to meet the new cost of living.
Where I live in Central kentucky the price of gas is now the highest it has been since Obama was president. And it is also following the same pattern it did back then. I will go to work one day and notice that all the gas stations I went to were 30 cents higher than they were the day before. Then over the following two or three weeks it would go down every couple of days by a penny or two, and then I’d wake up one day and again it was up 30 cents in one day. It was an obvious and steady saw tooth pattern
Yesterday morning all the stations where I live were 3.29 for regular. I rarely get out these days and I was downtown for lunch with someone so I filled up my car and then went to lunch. On my way home all the stations were 3.49, including the one I just filled up at an hour before.
My standard response: we are living in interesting times, but there are how about to get a lot more interesting.
In addition to systemic voting fraud ... in the background they are gerrymandering their blue* (* really communist red) states to reduce even further any GOP representation AND challenging the “red” states (see PA and NC for example) using the demonkrap judiciary gerrymander maneuver therein to increase unconstitutionally their number of seats. Therefore VDH is making a WAG on great defeat.
I retired last June. Before I retired I was filling up my tank every two days on my 150 mi round trip commute.
I’ve got to admit that when you factor in how much it would cost to commute at the current price of gas I didn’t give up as much money as it might seem like at first by retiring. Plus my social security doesn’t take a tax hit now. 😁
Yes, it will get a lot more interesting as what we see at the pump filters through the entire economy. More one pays at the pump, the less one buys other things, ... the less one buys other things (two reasons - they are not on the shelves or their prices are going up as well) ... doesn’t bode well for the average person ... jobs will be on the line next and Xiden has the answer ... order companies to cut costs (ROFLMAO) while givernment never cuts back, print more money and raise the minimum wage.
Yep. As I was saying to my wife a couple of days ago, I don’t have the acute pain of having to pay these higher prices for gas. However I’m still going to see it because all of my suppliers of good also have to pay those prices which means they have to raise their prices on their goods and services.
Case in point: I have a 1/4 Mile Long gravel driveway. Every now and then I need to get one or two truckloads of gravel brought in. How about half the cost of that load is for the fuel it takes for that truck to haul that stuff to my place. When the price of gas is two bucks, a load of gravel is a lot cheaper than when the price of gas is four bucks.
North Texas here. Last week $3.19/gal.
Yesterday $3.29/gal. Can remember my grand dad
and his excitement at seeing a gas war price of $.07/gal.
Those were the days of the 1950s, when air for your tires
was free.
Don’t count your chickens before they hatch.
$3.45 on The Jersey Shore and the damn refinery is an hour north of me in Linden, right off New York Harbor.
We shut down the pipeline and this idiot is buying oil from the Russians while imposing sanctions.
No science fiction writer or film maker could ever make up a story like this.
Democrats will suffer historic losses in the November midterms.
From your lips to God’s ears!!
Same thoughts of many others sitting in the theater;
an end to this drama cannot come soon enough.
As did BO, SloJo attempts to leave US broke and broken.
The grumpy old puppet should have his strings wrapped around
his neck and tightened.
That's what I keep pointing out -- as long as the left-wing vote-fraud machine has been left in place to keep working it's magic, I don't see how Republicans think they will ever win national office again.
I hope I'm wrong.
Repubs are just whistling past the graveyard.
