If the primaries are closed in Texas then yes only Democrats can vote in Democrat primaries and only Republicans can vote in Republican primaries. But it was a primary day for both parties. Shouldn’t a Republican be able to vote in a Republican primary in any polling place? Or are their separate polling places by Party on primary day? Never heard of such a thing. Sounds like the man is saying we’re understaffed so we’re not gonna do Republican votes. If a Republican loses votes because his voters weren’t allowed to vote in a polling place, he could potentially have to focus on a runoff, as Paxton will have to do since he didn’t make 50%, weakening him for the general election.

Polling places in Democrat precincts tend to be run poorly. Understaffed, long lines. And then they accuse the Republicans of voter suppression when it’s their poor planning.

I voted in the Tx primary, but not in Houston. Repub and Dem primaries are held the same day. All districts should be open to both. When you enter the polling place, you declare the party you are voting for, then you are given a ballot for that party.

In North Texas there were multiple reports of lines of 30+ requesting R ballots and about 5 in line for the D ballots.

You are correct, sir! I (early) voted in Fort Bend County. They asked if I was voting in the republican or 'rat primary. I said republican and my ballot choices reflected only republican issues.
