Both of my teens are still masked 7 hours a day. One in a private HS in CA who will end the masking March 14th thank God. But that’s still weeks away.
The other is a Cal State freshman still masked indoors even in his dorm. No end date has been stated for mandatory masking at Cal State’s 23 campuses (except for San Luis Obispo and East Bay). Only UC Berkeley (surprise!) is ending indoor masking of all the 10 UC campuses (UC Davis won’t end the mask mandate due to what they call “change fatigue”).
Stanford University today announced an end to indoor masking “except for classrooms, but students can now remove the mask when speaking.”
How do they know the students are wearing them in their dorm rooms? Presumably they sleep in their dorm rooms. Does that mean they have to wear them when they are sleeping?
Oy vey.
Today is the last day of masking mandate in our son’s private school (8th grade)! County ended it for March 1 but our school chose March 3 because they have to gather in church today for Ash Wed. and I guess the fear is crowd indoors.
Oh well. But I’m still happy for our son. ITOH so many acolytes to this fear that I’m betting lots of his classmates will still be masking. They have turned on my son because of this nonsense. Last year I wanted to smack some of his FORMER friends.
Validating my decision to push my kids to go to school somewhere other than CA.
