Remember, it is not gaining territory that wins wars. It is destroying the enemy totally.

“Remember, it is not gaining territory that wins wars. It is destroying the enemy totally.”

Then I look forward to the Ukrainian army’s upcoming reduction of the city of Moscow.

Some major inaccuracies. It has Russia controlling Sumy for instance, while that is still in Ukrainian hands today.

Chernihiv is also not yet under Russian control.

I’ve found https://liveuamap.com/ to be the most reliable.

If that map videos accurate then Russia has established a land bridge from Russia to the Crimean Peninsula which was one of his strategic goals.

Before some Uniparty idiot tries to claim that Russia already has a land connection to the Crimean Peninsula a 10 mile bridge over the Strait of Kerch is not a land bridge. Long bridges over large bodies of water are extremely vulnerable to combat aircraft and missiles.

I don’t think the objective is to destroy the enemy. I think the objective is to replace the Ukranian government with a government subservient to Russia. The objective is not to kill Ukrainian soldiers because those will be the same soldiers used by the subservient government to keep the peace after the Russians are gone. If you’re thinking, “Oh, they’ll never accept the new government,” well, look at the Candian cops using ultrasonic “pain” rays on protesters. Look at Candian cops riding over elderly people on scooters. As humans, we live in hierarchical structures. You replace the top of the pyramid and whoever is in that position has all the levers necessary to make those below tow the line...paychecks, retirement pay, medical benefits, etc. As individuals, we either accept those or we go elsewhere and where, exactly would that be? Some seven million people have emigrated out of Ukraine to other nations because the prospects of success there are already so small. And, that was before the Russian invasion. I think that Ukraine had a chance to turn around all of the corruption but that’s gone now. They will be subsumed into the Russian sphere and will live as not-quite=as=good=as=Russians. (And, that’s going to be crappy squared.)

Most of the these areas aren’t really “controlled” just were Russian troops have been seen on main highways or something

in the bigger cities they “control” the civilians have been confronting them

I know it’s only been a few days but when you take into consideration the scale of the map and the strength of Putin’s forces the pace seems to be rather pathetic. I would have expected more progression during the evenings when the Russians should have a greater advantage. Not that I am cheering for them - just an observation.

In the South they’re going East to West ensuring only they have access to the Black sea. The two Ukrainian breakaway regions – the Donetsk - is being sealed off North to South trapping Ukrainian military stationed there. Kiev will be taken shortly, leaving the Ukraine, except for Lviv the only place for Zelensky to hang his hat.

Sumy surrendered early on, when threatened by Grad rocket bombardment, according to a friend’s brother, who lives there.

Note to self….. never try to defend your country without an effective Air Force. Russia just drives long columns down the highway?

I am surprised they jumped the Dnieper. I thought they’d stay on the east side.

Am wondering if they intend on Odessa.

Wife has a friend in Poland. About an hours drive from Belarus, Said in a text this morning that all is kind of normal except for the THOUSANDS of Ukrainian refugees.

“the civilians have been confronting them”

Civilian militia that are untrained are nothing but cannon fodder. What will happen is the Russian forces will begin to target them and the REAL general killing will start.
Up to now, the Russ has pretty much avoided targeting civilian targets other than a few cases.
