The Russians are re-learning the hard way that armored vehicle columns are sitting ducks in urban environments, where operators with anti-armor weapons can easily hide behind buildings and large trees. That was a big problem the Red Army encountered when they invaded Berlin.

The US should never have been involved in WWI.
We should not be involved in Ukraine.
We should not be involved in any European war. Ever.
Digression: If diversity truly was strength, the Austrian Empire would have won the First World War.
This is an EU issue. We have no say unless NATO is attacked.

And THAT is what I fear. I used to think that Putin was a rational, calculating man who could be reasoned with. Not anymore. I was wrong.
Remember what happened in 1999 when the Russians could not totally subdue the Chechen rebels? They eventually went berserk and bombed the capital city of Grozny to kingdom come. To hell with innocent women and children ! They just leveled the entire city.
And that was under the “moderate” Boris Yeltsin.
Today, this is Putin Ukraine is dealing with. Watch out when he gets impatient and goes berserk ! It’s going to be ugly in Kyiv.

There are few treaty entanglements. There is not a lot of naval involvement. And “the great powers” are not directly involved.
So, yeah…this is not really like any war we know.

I have not read the article yet, but...
I highly respect Daniel Greenfield, and have thought since day one that even though I am reminded of the events leading up to WWII, just as much, I am reminded of the events leading up to WWI.
Nobody cared about Grozny, nobody ever heard of it, and let’s face it, we didn’t exactly care what happened to muslims. Russia had carte blanche.
They do not have it here.
It’s a shame Japan attacked Pearl Harbor and got us into WWII. Japan was pretty much taking over China until we decided to teach Japan to NEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER attack the United States of America.

The tragedy of Pearl Harbor is that odds are if they didn’t attack Pearl, they would have controlled China, and therefore, no CCP.
