I dunno about that, but I do know that the BMP-1 is still in Russian service. Had to school Georgia Girl 2 also. She thought the Russkies had ditched the T-72 twenty years ago, but they actually have about five times more in service than the second most numerous model.

i went to your link. Hit the Russian tanks in side Ukraine. This is the evidence of Russian Tanks in the Ukraine. it's a picture of a track showing some kind of tracked vehicle upside down in a hole. Far as I can tell it looks like it could be a bulldozer that fell in the hole.

Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov said Sunday “there are dead and wounded among our comrades,” without offering any numbers, but adding that Russia’s losses were “many times” fewer than those of Ukraine’s forces.

It was the first time Russian military officials mentioned casualties on their side. Ukraine has claimed that its forces killed 3,500 Russian troops.

Thank you. At this point I'm hearing three different stories.
1. US official story. Full invasion and the Russians are getting slaughtered.
2. Russians official story there are tactical missions taking place. That can mean some limited troops and aircraft.
3. Citizens in Ukraine saying the Russians are using very tactical siege warfare.

BMPs are used by the Russian Army and the internal security troops of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD). As of 2019, Russia still had 400 BMP-1s in its “not upgraded” configuration.

The Russians, for some bizarre reason, are not sending their best troops, tanks, APCs or planes in this war.
