Seriously, when I told a liberal that banning DDT resulted in a billon extra deaths due to disease and starvation he responded, “Good.” (A doctor yet!) I don’t think people understand that the huge population is giving us the wonderful lifestyle we enjoy. For example, if it weren’t for the huge potential market we wouldn’t have cell phones we can stick our jean pockets. And, who do they think grows all that chocolate and coffee and makes Nike sneakers? And, without huge markets and huge producers we wouldn’t have cheap shipping or jumbo jets. The market simply wouldn’t be there. Everything would be exponentially more expensive. No super cars for doctors and no McMansions. We are all beneficiaries of seventy years of the American maintained world order. But as societies run into a demographic wall, who will they sell their excess goods to? And, starvation means an unbelievable border crisis. You think it’s bad now? Wait until every starving Middle Easterner and African gets on a boat to Europe and America.
This is just all part of the Great Communist Reset
Mere incompetence cannot explain it.
If one understands that the goal is the destruction of the US, then it all makes sense.

I’ve often wondered about your point about the large and growing world population making the technological achievements possible and the successful commercialization due to huge markets. Maybe we need multi billions of people just to spring forth the six sigma geniuses that invent things and build companies to make everything we use. It didn’t happen when the world had a half billion people or a billion people. Could it have happened with a world population of a billion? Or did everything just follow a normal, slow, technological maturation and evolutionary curve?
The Roman Empire in the second century had 65 million people and the world population is estimated at 300 million people. For such a small population, they had amazing achievements.

We need the labor. Fortunately, it's been mostly Hispanics. So our cultures are compatible for most part. We should regulate immigration, build the wall, shut out the cartels. But yes, we need more legal immigration. Illegal immigration is the problem. Note the differences there. We need to keep our population growing. We would have been declining but our immigrants bailed us out big time. Germany is having tensions with Muslim immigrants but we are not having that problem here.

With all the news about used car prices skyrocketing, I’ve been checking and they never went up here in flyover country. Then I filled the truck a few days ago and came home and checked craigslist again for used 4cyl vehicles. They went up, way up.
There are other ways to have the population grow other than immigration.
But—we would not want kooks like the Democrats involved in such a policy.
What we could do was reward young people (a series of benefits, whatever worked, trial and error) for having children—but not just any young people—only those likely to produce children that would be productive for the economy.
A proxy for that might be criteria like:
—Married
—Both spouses with proven productive workplace experience
—Both spouses with IQs above 100
Americans don’t have the stomach for real public policy change like this.
We could be like Israelis. They are sustaining themselves. But remember they went through the Holocaust before the establishment of the modern state of Israel.
We are decadent and we have no desire to reproduce. So immigration it is. We'll prop ourselves up for another generation or two.
