Interesting factoid. There must have been a lot going on in Mexico around then. My grandfather applied for a VISA to Mexico in 1910 but was denied because of possible TB. He may have gone there anyway because my father was listed as born in El Paso in 1911 and no one had any connection to Texas. I’ll have to study that when time permits.

In this day and age, with the ability to do research and alternative media outlets, I don’t care if a candidate has a ‘bagillion dollars’ to spend on a campaign, they shouldn’t have any more advantage of the guy that has $20k in his account and most of that borrowed from family members.
Think about one thing...you can send out a text message, put a meme, a tweet, a facebook or instagram post...and that thing can reach 1000s in an hour. Think about all the video’s and such that we learn....went viral. No reason, other than manipulation from the RNC, state GOP apparatus and the media to make sure that only the person they pick has a chance.
Edward Durr is a prime example of David taking on Goliath and whooping that a$$. If I’m not mistaken, he came out and said that he did it with around $20k, Facebook and friends & supporters that got his message out. And he beat the head of the NJ Senate.
