A President who was trusted by the people could come before them and say that ending purchases of Russian fuel would hurt everyone, but that returning America to energy independence would benefit everyone in the long run.
I would put up with $6 a gallon gas this year if I could know that the price would be $3 or even $2 by 2024, and that none of my money was funding a dictatorial nutcase.
But the present occupant of the Delaware Mansion? I don’t trust him, or the Jamaican idiot who will take his place, or any of a thousabd or so possible Dem replacements. Trump, DeSantis, or the equivalent, I would follow into hell for the purpose of restoring American paradise.

Look at Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer that passed off Biden as vigorous and brilliant. I guarantee they think they can fool the people and recruit the elite GOP Senators who loathe and abhor the Republican base to work with them.

If they get Gas to $6,00, they are never giving that up.
They want people living in Cities, kids going to schools co-located in the neighborhood, Mass Transit as the only realistic choice, and to make it very difficult to flee.
It’s not just western Europe’s reliance on Russian gas that is driving decisions in this conflict. Just look at the bucket full of @ssholes in our own government whose children have made a fortune working for Ukrainian gas companies. Those companies aren’t selling Ukrainian gas. They’re selling Russian gas that is transported by pipeline across Ukraine.
