I think there might be behind the scenes negotiations going on. Putin wants stability, no more NATO crazy talk, no more destabilizing corrupt American DS manipulation of Ukrainian affairs. If the Ukrainian leadership can accommodate Putin on these two very legitimate concerns, some of the current leadership might have a role in a future government.
