Who else in 1812 was prepared to take on Napoleon’s 600k man army? No one. By the time Napoleon left Russia that army was down to 50k men. In 1813 the Russians made up the largest part of the combined army that defeated Napoleon at Leipzig. And in 1814 they were the largest part of the army that drove into France and forced him to abdicate. The Austrians and Prussians could have done neither of those things without the Russian contribution.

Relax, saying the Russians had some success in the past does not mean you (or I) support what Putin is doing now. This is just history we’re talking about.
