Trump was the first prez in a century to allow US troops to engage Russian ground forces. The last one was Wilson when he sent the Polar Bears to help the Whites after the Reds staged the October Revolution. If Putin had invaded while Trump was in office, Trump would, IMHO, have provided air support to Ukraine in much the same way Russia provided air support to North Korea and North Vietnam, conflicts where Russia helped kill 100,000 Americans.

If Cyberattacks start between world powers or if China starts sinking ships around Taiwan strait, will you still take that bet?

Yeah there’s that. But Russia has many advantages countries like us don’t have. They could get real ugly if they wanted to and get away with it. I suspect Putin may try first to take an easier path with less casualties but we’ll see.

He is the only one paying attention. He is so right and I wish he was not.

I’ll bet my entire 401k there will NOT be WWIII over this.

That is risky with this one. Just wanted to document that I answered.

The war machine had a long 4 years off.

They need to suck hard on the government tit.

Biden will let them at the cost of many many lives.

Plus Biden can blame all his failures on the war and war failures on military leaders.

“ I’ll bet my entire 401k there will NOT be WWIII over this.”

Your 401k is kind of being bet on this.
It won’t be worth much if that happens .
I think we all lose sight of the thousands of nuclear weapons that nations have. We all think they wouldn’t be used
Probably right. But anything could happen.

I recall talk of ww3 when CHIMP illegally invaded Iraq looking to invest trillions of bucks looking for weapons that didn’t exist. At least Putin is poking his nose in a country bordering his owb, not thousands of miles away

“I recall talk of ww3 when CHIMP illegally invaded Iraq”

I don’t remember much of that. But I don’t doubt it. There is no shortage on all sides of the political spectrum for bloviators that engage in hyperbole.

Care to post proof? You know, posts by other Freepers?

Or are we just going to be have to put up with your accusations?

“I’ll bet my entire 401k there will NOT be WWIII over this.”

What’s anyone gonna do with the winnings if it did break out? Walmart probably won’t have regular business hours to spend it there.

The ways WW3 could happen:
NATO member’s personnel get themselves killed in the fog of war - one member is attacked all gotta join in for the retaliation.

Or - Some guy somewhere in the command structure decides to push a button. Once one missile hits, it use it or loose it time.

Or - In the heat and confusion of war, a mistake is made. It’s not as if there’s no precedence to such things, as I just mentioned yesterday elsewhere.

Ideally, and with luck, things should be okay. But there are no guarantees. And we got Biden at the helm to add to the mix.
