I've been seeing reporting on Fox News that people close to Putin have said that "something has changed" about him recently. They say this as if to suggest that he's acting now for his "legacy" to rebuild the fallen Soviet Union.

If it's true that Putin's demeanor has changed, then why? Could it be that he's been recently diagnosed with an incurable illness? What could cause him to act so rashly, so suddenly, and without regard to what the rest of the world thinks?

Is it more than just Biden in the White House? Does Putin feel that his time is running out for some reason?

That might be it. Republicans will return to power in Congress so they will toughen U.S. resolve. Putin may have calculated "it's now or never" so he went for it.

No...because the damn war between Russians and Ukrainians has gone on for almost 8 years...since the coup that crowned The Chocolate King president of Ukraine. No person on earth hated Russians more than the Chocolate King and he was corrupt as they come. He wanted no Russian spoken and no Russian taught in school.

He was a hate monger.

No doubt Zelenski was a welcome change...but it was too late. The Ukrainians have been twisting in the wind. I'll bet everyone of them has a Russian relative and/or friend in both Russia and Ukraine. They're Ukraine and Russian at the same time. Difficult on the heart.
