The Dominican Republic has started building a wall stretching around 122 miles (196km) along its border with Haiti.
Luis Abinader, president of the Dominican Republic, said the barrier - which will cover almost half of the country's border with haiti - will attempt to stop illegal migrants crossing the border from Haiti, as well as preventing drugs and weapons being smuggled into the country. The first phase of the project is expected to be completed within nine months, he said.

Shades of a recent American president who was successful in stopping the flow of illegal immigrants at least until the current president went with Stay in the US and stopped the wall because he estimated we do not have enough crime, drugs and poor people in the country
What a joke, at the same time they are building a wall to keep out Haitians from the DR, tens of thousands of Dominicans are illegally crossing the USA, by way of Puerto Rico, Tourist Visa fraud or Mexican border.
The Dominicans should be in charge of the whole island. Distribute the others over the world’s 25 or so nations that speak a lot of French, including the US. It’s a s—thole country. People make just a few hundred bucks/year. Give them a thousand each year for 5 years. Otherwise the Haiti problem will not go away.
