Russian Authorities Crack Down On Massive Anti-War Protests in Moscow
Daily Caller ^ | 02/24/2022 | Dylan Housman

Authorities in Russia are acting quickly to breakup widespread protests against President Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine.

Thousands of protesters have been seen in Moscow following Russia’s offensive against Ukraine, with smaller protests springing up in other cities across the country. Russian state media warned citizens that those who participate in unsanctioned protests will be “arrested and brought to responsibility.”

About 1,000 people at this anti war protest right now. These are taking away protesters indiscriminately. I was briefly detained even though I was saying repeatedly I’m a journalist. pic.twitter.com/C8ZdMLDWON

A large crowd was recorded on video gathering in Pushkin Square in Moscow, not far from the Kremlin, in an anti-war demonstration. Demonstrators were reportedly being indiscriminately detained, with some journalists also detained by law enforcement. A large crowd in St. Petersburg also gathered before law enforcement ordered them to disperse. (RELATED: Former Boxing Superstar Vitali Klitschko Says He Will Take Up Arms To Fight Against Russia)

Anti-war solo pickets like this are popping up in cities across Russia. It’s not much but they’re arrested almost immediately, often upon leaving their homes when the cops know to expect them. Here’s Sofya Rusova, co-chair of Russia’s Trade Union of Journalists. pic.twitter.com/5NVqdGyhFy

“Arrest Putin, Not Me” – A protester in Russia said during arrest.pic.twitter.com/JSlxNchUCd

According to protest monitor OVD-Info, nearly 2,000 people have been detained across 52 cities by Russian police. One protester being detained was seen on video saying “arrest Putin, not me.”

Russian popular sentiment appears to match that of Ukraine and the United States. An AP-NORC survey released Wednesday found that only 26% of Americans think the U.S. should play a “major role” in the conflict.

We should call on the Russian people and military to overthrow Putin and end this madness before he brings destruction upon Russia.

Just a thought.

Sure would be too bad if some missiles happened to accidentally
wind up exploding in Russia’s government offices.

I guess then you could call it kind of reasoned, since Russia
hasn’t had a problem bombing the Ukraine who didn’t propose
to invade Russia.

Eastern Ukraine is very poor. The fighting and killing means no investments and no jobs for the last 8+ years.

Putin is annexing a bunch of people currently on the dole that bitch the Ukrainian government wasn’t giving them enough.

That, Plus the thousands of Dead Russian Kids he sent to slaughter isn’t going play well back home.

We all act like Putin can do no wrong and can never “mis-calculate”.

Not looking good.

Well Ukraine shot down some helicopters which unfortunately exploded in the air and so lots of pieces fell on homes etc. Fires and damage.

A 1000 people does not equate to a “massive” anything. There were more people at Tiffany’s comeback concert.

We all know what Putin is about.....just as we know what Biden and this administration is about. However I view Putin in a better light then Biden because Putin does care and defends his country. Biden floods our borders with dangerous people and further invites more to invade!!!

Were those helicopters were firing at Ukrainians.

It’s unfortunate they fell oh homes, but what are you going to
do, just let them use those homes as shields so they can
kill Ukrainians indiscriminately, at length?

Unfortunately war does mean these types of happenings....war is always a bad deal as innocent people always get hurt and die. So many in the breakaway republics have died there fighting on both sides for years now. I think last count was 140,000 deaths there.

War is hell. The Ukrainians did not invade Russia.

Russia invaded the Ukraine.

Therefore any death in the Ukraine is a direct result of
Russian hostility.

Russia has no business inside the Ukraine.

It may not like what is going on there, but so what?

The Ukraine is a sovereign nation and Russia has no
authority to declare it a rogue state and march in.

It is trying to destroy the government. Is is therefore
trying to annex the nation and it’s territory.

Putin has tragically overplayed his hand and has brought death and suffering to the people of Russia and the Ukraine. He can never be absolved. IMHO he will be ultimately deposed by his own people.
