Massive protests erupted on Thursday in Russian President Vladimir Putin's hometown of St. Petersburg, as people voiced their opposition to the invasion of Ukraine.
Videos posted to Twitter show a sea of people gathered in a section of St. Petersburg, Russia's second-largest city, chanting and holding signs to object to Russia's offensive in Ukraine.

Something tells me this is going to be a quick action. Putin needs to get what he wants quickly before public opinion brings him down. Then he can bide his time and see how the West is going to adjust its affairs in terms of military readiness and energy independence.

It may be that the only real protest he is going to see is from his own people.

Because it is the worst sort of war: one where even if Putin wins he loses. Long term trying to control 40 million people who hate you is not possible.
