You make it sound like Putin just vanquished Europe’s best military force when in fact all Putin did was commit a street robbery at a nation-state level.
He also made clear that Russia and Russians are inveterate and habitual liars and that their treaties, agreements, memorandums, and every last spoke word are not to be trusted.

Myself I do not want war but I do want the US and Europe to impose a total trade embargo on Russia. That means some discomfort for a while on the part of American and European consumers but it also means cutting off the flow of hard currency to the Russian economy and their war machine.
You got a better idea if a thug has a nuclear weapon to your head? Are you talking B-52s over Russian staging areas, swarms of A-10s tearing up the Ukrainian country side, F-35s taking out Russian command and control, a cyberattack? All that crap means WWIII. Let THEM negotiate. It’s not worth one killed or maimed American boy or another trillion in debt on his back.

If they negotiate to terms, there is nothing to indicate that they would ever hold to their side, particularly in the long-term.
But, here is the only down-side for Russia; Ukraine resists and they are forced to execute general warfare, including significant casualty counts and civilian atrocities, and physical destruction. All things that will be used by ‘the west’ against Putin for years.
Other then that, they are now in a position of strength, and Ukraine holds few cards. Putin can get control of Ukraine, and while he can’t claim there was no invasion, he can claim there was no war.
LOL as he’s already destroyed Ukraine’s military and infrastructure.

There should have been a Conference, like the 1975 Helsinki Conference that finalized the Post-WWII European borders, after the Fall and Breakup of the Soviet Union.
Well if you want to go tit-for-tat, we should be able to roll right into Belarus and get rid of Lukashenko once and for all.

Frankly Ukraine is none of our business. If Putin is willing to fight for it, then it’s his. If the Ukrainians want to fight them, then that is their burden. I doubt they are that committed to their own sovereignty. The war will be over before the end of the weekend.
I will say, if I were Trump, I take no option off the table. And that certainly would be one option I would consider.
