Looks as though he’s finishing off control of one of the two provinces he recognized yesterday, as they were only partially controlled by the rebels. Not a big deal until he moves out from them (if he even bothers).

That border post the Spetsnas took was north of Crimea, not part of the two areas.

That’s what I’m thinking as well. The Ukrainian forces have the western half of the Donbas region. They may be attacking communications arrays in Kiev as a prelude to striking the remaining Ukrainian forces and militias in that area.

He’s not going to invade the rest of country I wouldn’t think; just destroy their ability to fight if they challenges them in Donbas. Same thing happened in Georgia; the Russians decimated their military whenGeorgia tried to defend South Ossetia and Abkhazia.
