Tucker Carlson: Americans have been trained to hate Putin, and will suffer because of it
FOX News.com ^ | February 23, 2022 | Tucker Carlson

Even Biden admitted that energy prices are about to go up

Since the day that Donald Trump became president, Democrats in Washington have told you it's your patriotic duty to hate Vladimir Putin. It's not a suggestion. It's a mandate. Anything less than hatred for Putin is treason.

Many Americans have obeyed this directive. They now dutifully hate Vladimir Putin. Maybe you're one of them. Hating Putin has become the central purpose of America's foreign policy. It's the main thing that we talk about. Entire cable channels are now devoted to it. Very soon, that hatred of Vladimir Putin could bring the United States into a conflict in Eastern Europe.

Before that happens, it might be worth asking yourself, since it is getting pretty serious: What is this really about? Why do I hate Putin so much? Has Putin ever called me a racist? Has he threatened to get me fired for disagreeing with him? Has he shipped every middle-class job in my town to Russia? Did he manufacture a worldwide pandemic that wrecked my business and kept me indoors for two years? Is he teaching my children to embrace racial discrimination? Is he making fentanyl? Is he trying to snuff out Christianity? Does he eat dogs?

These are fair questions, and the answer to all of them is no. Vladimir Putin didn't do any of that. So why does permanent Washington hate him so much?

If you've been watching the news, you know that Putin is having a border dispute with a nation called Ukraine. Now, the main thing to know about Ukraine for our purposes is that its leaders once sent millions of dollars to Joe Biden's family. Not surprisingly, Ukraine is now one of Biden's favorite countries.

“I respect him for his patriotism to the country of his birth.”

I’d judge him based on the quality of life Russia’s citizens have.

And also the actions his government is taking toward the Russians.

I don’t know much about Russia or Putin.

I learn bits and pieces as I take in the news.

For all his faults, at least Putin views the sexual pervert threat in the correct light. Churches with orthodox theology in Russia are now flourishing thanks to a prohibition on the Gaystapo proseletyzing in the Public Square. We would do well to learn from him in this regard.

Don’t look at the people destroying America and everything that America ever stood for.

Don’t look at them.

Instead, look at Russia.

Looking at Russia will give the people destroying America and everything that America ever stood for more time to accomplish their goal, and that it what they want.

One thing about Putin – he doesn’t have open borders with illegals and terrorists coming across his border. Our resident in Washington DC allows anyone in and makes Americans pay for them.

Russians are not evil.

Russian culture includes a lot of beauty.

Russia has historically had an authoritarian government that has disrespected the natural rights of the people.

At the moment, unfortunately, so do Western countries.

You appear to be basing that characterization of Tucker Carlson solely on your antipathy towards Russians.

Tucker is simply “Tucker”. He does not ask that anyone blindly follows his thoughts on any subject. He often presents an alternative view to what we get in 95% of the MSM and asks that people make up their own minds.

He does provide his opinion but it means nothing more than mine or yours - he allows people to see an alternative view and make up their own mind.

I usually agree with him but he is one of the most important media voices we have right now. In some respects he is the “Rand Paul” of media.

Slimy Hunter Biden took money from everyone, Ukraine, Russia and China. To be accurate though, he was hired in Ukraine by Mykola Zlochevsky, owner of Burisma, who is a pro-Russian politician.

If the net result is having Hunter sliced open from head to toe, I would be fine with that.

There are a lot of bad actors in the world. IMO, the ChiComs are a far greater threat to our country and the world than Vlad and his Russkies. And yet we coddle China and kiss their asses because they own us and our leaders (except Trump).

Ditto.

I don’t hate Russia either. Putin has his problems, and talk about Ukraine cozying up to the west or joining NATO can do nothing but aggravate Russia. Why do we need to expand NATO anyway? All that would do is extend our already overextended resources, as well as enrage Russia. I advocate protecting our borders first. But clearly that makes me racist or something.
