Ukraine on Wednesday has started conscripting reservists aged 18-60 following a decree by President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, the armed forces said in a statement.
The maximum service period is one year.

Whew! Been there done that a LONG time ago. Guess I don’t have to worry about burning my draft card now. I mean if brandon is all in on this, surely drafting Americans 18-60 should be on the table right? Hunter is eligible too. After all, Ukraine is our #1 ally right?

I may be wrong, but I never thought Putin would enter into a bloody takeover killing 50,000 Ukrainians. So, there’s 3 options:
1) He enters and Ukrainians realize that fighting 160,000 well armed Russians would be suicide and most lay down their weapons.
2) Putin doesn’t invade the entire country, just parts that won’t put up a fight.
3) I’m wrong - Putin goes in and kills 50,000 Ukrainians.

Against Russian air power probably, but a lot of the reservists are former combat veterans from Donbas/Luhansk conflict.

The guy was nearly 80, nearly 250 years ago, and look what he did. People aged 60 nowadays are generally in better health than their ancestors at that age.

All the options occur with large Ukrainian casualties. If Putin invades, its going to be preceded by shock and awe campaign: massive bombing through air power, missiles and artillery.
