You nailed it. Unions will get dang near all of it. Then they’ll say, “Thanks for the snack! What’s for supper?”
BTTT.
Right! You can’t make the ILA do anything outside their contract and this blockage is just too ripe for them to not harvest mass container theft.
I hope he properly weaned himself from nursing, or he'll be leaking profusely.
Liz, an FYI ping to this thread for the links I’ve included.
“The Teamsters will really make out on this boondoggle”
Congratulations! You have connected the dots.
The entire process is a recruiting tool for the liberals using the unions to grow and prosper.
The Teamsters at the ports are providing just enough product delivery to keep their contracts operating at a minimum. By doing this they are slowing the chain movement and trying to justify more bodies to be hired. And at Long Beach if you tack on Newsome’s requirement to sterilize all their equipment between shifts, the state government is assisting the problem.
And to tack on to that, thus being a recruiting tool, if they hire additional help, it is within the AFL-CIO contracts that they can’t be laid off without continuing to pay them for life. Sweet deal, huh?
So what’s the incentive to push the envelope? Add to that most of the shipping locations are either partly or totally owned by China or Russia. Same with Tacoma and Seattle in my area and they have the same “problems.”(?)

You have a big problem at SeaTac - the new Biden Director of Border and Custom’s has slowed everything down by requiring every container be inspected. This is delaying every shipment by 3-4 days.
East Coast Ports are really picking up business from the Left Coast - Savannah - Charleston and Mobile are booming.
BTTT.
“Golly......all that hate-filled black macadam.”

Meanwhile, anyone know whatever happened to the Ports America deal...?
