As many as 1,000 truckers are expected to gather in California on Wednesday to embark on an 11-day trek to Washington DC in an effort to protest what they claim are unconstitutional COVID-19 mandates.

It has called on the federal government to end the National Emergency enacted at the start of the pandemic, arguing that the threat posed by the virus has now receded.
***
People's Convoy organizers claim they do not intend to disrupt roads or bridges, like the Canadian protest did.
***
However, some semi-truck drivers are already calling for widespread blockades, including Bob Bolos who on Monday vowed the Beltway and other roads in and out of DC will be shut down.
The convoy is expected to arrive in DC in early March which some experts allege could disrupt traffic around the Capitol ahead of President Joe Biden's State of the Union address. Others have expressed concern that the convoy could result in a recreation of the January 6 Capitol insurrection.
The Pentagon is expected to approve the deployment of 700 to 800 unarmed National Guard troops to the nation's capital, a U.S. official said Tuesday, in face of trucker convoys.
The Metropolitan Police Department of DC has added 500 officers to its deployment each day in early March and the fencing that surrounded the Capitol complex for much of 2021 will be reinstalled next week. *** As a preemptive measure, Capitol Police has scheduled officers on 12-hour shifts, with plans to reinstall the fencing that surrounded the Capitol complex last year. Democrats, mainly Pelosi, insisted the fencing was a needed precaution following the January 6 riot.

Performative nonsense.
The national emergency probably isn't affecting 5% of these truckers.
If they have an issue with mandates they need to take it up with their states, where the real mandates are happening.
Going to DC is just throwing a tantrum to get attention.
If truckers just clogged the Beltway, the 395 and 295, and WI and PA aves in Maryland, they would effectively bring the District of Columbia to a stop
The deep state lizards would go crazy. They would probably start shooting people on sight.
Walls don't work, but fences apparently do.

Better idea for truckers: park it for two weeks. Stay home. If you get even 10 percent of truckers to go on "vacation," you bring the Biden regime to its knees. All without jail time/bank account freezings/cop violence/the usual leftist mob action.
Full disclosure: I'm married to a long haul owner-operator trucker, and this is his idea.

Sounds like a lot of Freepers are conceding defeat before the battle begins. Go write your polite letters to your Assistant Democrat representatives.
Won't this add to the traffic problem?
Yeah, if general Lee wants you to charge the Union center, you concede defeat, absolutely. Concede defeat and rethink your tactics.
Apples and Oranges. Stuff your red herring. Try to make a real argument. Truckers and people cannot concede their right to petition government for their grievances. This is a perfect opportunity to expose what the establishment wants - complete control over the people. That includes what you say, the right to spend your money, what you wear on you face, and inject in your veins.
Effective at what? Annoying residents, slowing down ambulances, and convincing Americans to support whatever restrictive measures the liberals propose to just make it all go away?
Indeed Mao lesson #4
Strawman dichotomy. There are better options other than trusting GOP vs. being complicit with an FBI plot.
Will the Guard be as unarmed as they were at Kent State?
