I'm just going to say this is what you risk when you're stupid enough to think that blocking major bridges and roads for an extended period will be tolerated. Especially if you're a conservative.
I don't think it took a huge number of brain cells to know that this was going to turn out badly.

Are they reading from scripts ?

What a loser!
If you had been around in Revolutionary War days, you'd be sitting on the sidelines pointing out how many times Washington lost battles and complaining about how impossible the effort was.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t this to be used for acts of war?

It WAS the War Powers Act, but they changed it, aloing with the rules by which it can be used, IIRC.

So they are going to give the bastard his emergency powers?’ The Senators I have seen so far are all for it.
The Canadian Senate has power, but they never use it, as far as I can tell.
I think they will rubber stamp the House of Commons.

If they do vote for it only hope I can think of is General Strike. Canada is main US trade partner. Not a bad idea of stocking up on goods.

The power is theoretical. If they actually used it, it would probably be stripped. Much like the House of Lords in UK.

Since there’s over a dozen Senate vacancies, no doubt appointments could be rushed through if the vote looks like a close loss.

They’re just ceremonial like the Governor General of Canada and by the way she’s being bombarded with phone calls for her to remove Trudeau ,LOL

If a majority of the Senate wanted to stay in power, they would be hard pressed to lose it.
