“Those who most flamboyantly proclaim that they are fighting fascists continue to embrace and wield the defining weapons of despotism. “

The Truth of the hour.

I object to calling these “neoliberals”.

There’s nothing liberal about Progressives and there never has been.

Those tactics pioneered against WikiLeaks —

excluding dissenters from the financial system

and coercing tech companies to deny them internet access

without a whiff of due process —

have now become standard weapons.

Actually, many of the Western democracies don't have much to brag about in their recent histories. Aside from the obvious examples of Nazi Germany and fascist Italy, there was the case of Spain, which went from the Marxist extremes of the "Republican" government in the early 30s to the "soft" fascism of Franco after the Spanish Civil War.

After WWII, East Germany and much of Eastern Europe lived under Soviet domination for decades. Going back in time, the French Revolution was also a period of left-wing terror.

And now we've seen the Marxist virus seeping into countries which had long resisted it - the US, Canada, the UK, much of Western Europe, and Australia.

Read “Gulag Archipelago” ~ Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn and “October” ~ China Mieville. Both are eye opening with similarities to today’s happenings.

They are not neo liberals. There is nothing liberal about them.

They are fascists.

I don’t use that term to be merely pejorative. They are for a merger of corporations and the state. They are fine with those in business making money so long as they carry out the will of the state. They want all power centralized. They have no qualms about trampling on civil liberties or about using violence to get their way. That is corporatism - literal fascism.

Journalists are treated as criminals and spies.

What's wrong with that? Just kidding mostly but see Tagline.

There was a time, that I can still recall, when liberals would have condemned limitations on free speech and the incarceration of political prisoners in such countries as China and the USSR. These days they have become the very thing they once deplored.
