Former foreign minister of breakaway territory in country's east accuses Kyiv of stirring up provocations, says instigators will be tried like "Nazi collaborators" were.

"To end the war we must win it, there are no other options"---this is the conclusion of Alkesandr Kofman, leader of the pro-Russian separatists in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), established in East Ukraine eight years ago.

Kofman, who is Jewish, served as the DPR's foreign minister during the last round of fighting in East Ukraine in 2014, and today heads the quasi-state's public bureau.

He sat down with Ynet and sister publication Yedioth Ahronoth to an exclusive interview in which he blamed escalating tensions on Kyiv, and claims that war between Russia and Ukraine is inevitable...

Brandon wants us to be on the side of a nation that has Nazi nationalist units fighting for it (Ukraine).

The forefathers who served in these units wore the SS insignia on their uniforms in World War Two in some cases.

This Jewish Russian nationalist has a clear notion of who the enemy is and their background. He wants to win the war and treat the Nazi Ukrainians like they should be treated.

I take no sides in the dispute other than saying Biden wants to use it to help his cause and we cannot be sucked into helping Biden.

Beyond that war is simply awful and I don't want any part of this match between Russia and Ukraine.

How would we react if Russia and Mexico formed a NATO-like alliance and Russia sent troops and weapons there?

If we ever one day got up the courage to take some Mexican land at the border as a buffer, their hypothetical treaty with Russia would slam that door shut.

He wants to invade a neighboring sovereign country with no provocation (one which has a Jewish leader) at the behest of a ex-KGB Soviet oligarch, but you seem to imply that because this individual is Jewish he’s the “good guy” based on that fact alone? Ignoring of course than several of the eastern Ukrainian separatist ranks include many Nazis and alleged Nazis, every bit to the same extent as some Ukrainian military units.

Yes that is true but the reality is that he presides over a military that includes Nazi nationalists from the past.

What was ironic about 2014 and I read it on the Israeli websites back then is that ex-Israel Defense Force members were in the streets of Kiev with Ukranazi units fighting to overthrow the pro-Russian government.

Yea, sure Ukraine has moved hundreds of thousands of troops and masses of military equipment to the border with Russia as a “provocative” prelude to invading Russia. /sarc

Ukriane did not carve out a part of Russia for itself and create a “Ukrainian separatist” movement there in a provocation to get Russia to attack Ukraine. That whole scenario is 100% reversed and instigated by Russia in 2014 in an attempt to provoke Ukraine.

I imagine the “Jewish” guy is associated with with a corrupt Ukraine oligarch that is under investigation in Ukraine.

I don't think your anology is fair - IMHO. How would Russia/China/Britian/France... react if the U.S. was postured to militarily invade a peaceful and independent Mexico, who to help avert attack, formed an alliance with Russia? OR if if the U.S. was postured to militarily invade a peaceful Canada, who to help avert attack, formed an alliance with Russia? OR if if the U.S. was postured to militarily invade a peaceful S. American nation, who who to help avert attack, formed an alliance with Russia?

The point is that the Ukraine is not the aggressor here, just as Poland was not the aggressor when Nazis invaded in 1939.

Speaking on the second day of the Munich Security Conference, Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy challenged members of the European Union and NATO to take their relationship with Ukraine seriously.
In emotional remarks, he thanked partners for their rhetorical and material support in the face of Russia's military build up on Ukraine's borders. But he said they have Ukraine to thank for standing up to Russian aggression for years, and protecting the rest of Europe from it.
Still, Zelenskyy said diplomacy is the only means for Ukraine to regain the territory it lost when Russia attacked in 2014. That led him to question Russian claims that they are not seeking to do so again now.
