Don’t stop there. Management is just responding to the imperative to be cost-efficient or go out of business.
Ultimately, consumers, at least in the US, reward low prices and generally refuse to pay a premium for domestic goods.
It feels good to blame the foreigners or the corrupt politicians or the greedy businessmen. It doesn’t feel as good to blame the person in the mirror.
I realize many here probably are willing to pay more, but that doesn’t change the fact that we aren’t dealing with corruption or greed so much as good old economic self interest.
According to the law, the Federal government is supposed to act against unfair foreign competition and restrict immigration. In fact, of course, it does nothing because of its own political interests in satisfying the donor class and the Dem party (which has merged significantly over the past 10 years with big business).
So the proximate problem is the lawlessness of the Federal government.

Nobody asked for cheap crap from China. It was forced on them.
Nobody asked for H1-B programmers, either. It was a creation of GE, Jack “Neutron” Welch, and McKinsey, over 25 years ago.
