Judge rules Trump can face lawsuits alleging he incited Jan. 6 Capitol riot

Former President Donald Trump lost a bid Friday to toss lawsuits holding him responsible for inciting the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the US Capitol.

Federal Judge Amit Mehta rejected Trump’s attempt to dismiss the civil cases with a claim that he has absolute immunity because he was in office at the time.

“To deny a President immunity from civil damages is no small step,” Mehta wrote in a 112-page ruling. “The court well understands the gravity of its decision. But the alleged facts of this case are without precedent, and the court believes that its decision is consistent with the purposes behind such immunity.”

Mehta, a U.S. District Court judge in Washington, DC, and appointed by former President Barack Obama, ruled that Trump could be sued for helping to incite the Capitol riot because his “Stop the Steal” speech ahead of the attack in the city was not an official presidential act.

I more and more like the idea of if the Republican party wins the House they elect Trump Speaker. It would be fantastic. Messy trials for Joe, Obama, Hill, Shit all of them...

He won’t. He’s still taking advice from Lindsey Graham; discernment isn’t his strong suit.

I have often wondered why the FISA judges didn’t catch the obvious errors in the FBI applications for surveillance. They could have, should have exposed the conspiracy against Trump. But they must have been part of the plot, or paid off.

Basically, he said he don't give a F about no presidential immunity. 230 years of jurisprudence down the drain because, well, it's the seriousness of the charges, don't you know!

“..He’s still taking advice from Lindsey Graham..”

Taking advise, or he is just listening to him?? Trump, as president, was said to listen to all advisors, all who had an opinion and then make his own decision. That is the way it’s done.

What if he’s still the President? Because its entirely likely that he is as he was spotted traveling in a motorcade last week that originated at the Whitehouse.

I wouldn’t worry too much about all this folks. Its white noise.

I wouldn’t know for sure, but it’s been said that it is/was LG who suggested that PDJT endorse Ortagus for TN. (There have been other instances in the past but I don’t recall all; did not keep a list.)

Good.

That will make it easier (not easy, but easier) to bring a few million claims against Biden, Fauci and the many others who caused so many deaths and loss of income from their admittedly disastrous and politically motivated mismanagement of the wu-flu pandemic.

Dims just do not know when to leave well enough alone.

It's also a shot in the dark by the commicrats to hang an insurrection conviction on Trump.
It isn't going to happen but, if they could pull it off, it could make DJT ineligible to serve as President as described in the 14th Amendment.
