From what I've read, she was in a traffic stop that escalated to the point that she thought it necessary to pull a weapon. Instead of using the Taser, she used her hand gun by mistake. These are split second decisions being made by LEO's

On the facts you just told me, I would give the cop the benefit of the doubt. Surrender the badge. If the victim caused the circumstances that cause the cop to reach for her taser, he deserves some of the blame.

Obviously, he did not deserve to lose his life but I wouldn't let him off the hook if he was being a dumb@$$. But I did not read all the facts on this case.

I’ll have to look into this some more. The brief reports I’ve seen suggest she should have used the Taser instead of the handgun. That line of logic doesn’t make sense to me if the cop is under attack. If the suspect wasn’t being cooperative and not an active threat to her life, she should have called for a backup.
