The left is losing its war on parents
NY Post ^ | February 17, 2022 | Glenn H. Reynolds

The parents’ revolution has notched another win.

This week, three members of San Francisco’s Board of Education — Gabriela López, Alison Collins and Faauuga Moliga — suffered overwhelming defeat in a recall election brought by angry parents who felt they were more concerned with lefty politics than with children’s welfare. The parents’ case was strengthened by the fact that they were, well, right.

Siva Raj, one of the recall organizers, said, “The city of San Francisco has risen up and said this is not acceptable, to put our kids last.”

...

When parents objected, they were ignored, called racists or worse. And not just in San Francisco. In Loudoun County, Va., teachers and administrators ran a secret group aimed at taking action against parents who opposed their system’s commitment to critical race theory. One of them, school-board member Beth Barts, resigned her position after her role came out. Others face recalls organized by angry parents.

What some have called the “parents’ revolt” is spreading across the country, with parents in numerous other jurisdictions organizing around school-board elections and education policy. (Many more, of course, are quietly voting with their feet, taking their kids to private school or homeschooling rather than submitting to the diktats of woke and incompetent educational authorities.)

...

We can learn a couple things from all this.

...

San Francisco, one of the farthest-left jurisdictions in the nation. This was a revolt of liberal Democrats against “woke” Democrats, and the liberals had had enough. As The Wall Street Journal noted, “Successful recalls are rare, and it takes real effort to lose by 3-to-1 or 4-to-1.” Citing Board of Supervisors President Shamann Walton’s characterization of the recall movement as “closet Republicans,” it observed, “that must be some closet.”

“ angry parents who felt they were more concerned with lefty politics than with children’s welfare”

You can apply that to *everything* the libtards do in relation to welfare of actual citizens 🤪

THE COMRADES GOT DUMPED FOR THEIR NAKED NATIVIST POWER MONGERING.

READ ON.

Dumped nativist Faauuga Moliga, SFUSD Bd of Ed VP,
was asked what role race played in the recall movement?

He stupidly responded:

“As the first Pacific Islander to ever run for the school board, it’s critical. One of the reasons I ran is because Pacific Islanders were not doing well. And the reason why they were not doing well was because there’s a lot of systemic barriers that have really been a hindrance for the growth of Pacific Islanders in the city. So having a voice at the table and being able to advocate for things like the Fa’a Sāmoa Initiative, the Samoa Community Development (Center) learning hub, those things just don’t show up if you don’t have a seat at the table.

In terms of being equitable and being able to serve all your constituents and families that live in the city, you have to have representation, especially for those groups that are marginalized the most. And so race, it really matters to public education.”

**************************************

KQED education reporter asked naked nativist....San Francisco Bd of Ed President Gabriela López....... about the role race played in the recall.

Gabriela López inanely said: “ Obviously that’s an important question, and I’m not going to say that we’re not noticing that this is a recall against people of color, and it’s against people who have also been doing a lot of work to support those communities across our city who are often not in these spaces. So, I do believe if it wasn’t someone with my background, my experience, my understanding or cultural understandings, I don’t think I would be getting as much pushback as I am now.”

“People might disagree, but I think a lot of the issues that we’re facing have to do with who’s in a position of power right now, who isn’t usually.........”

Allison Collins is a nutjob. Good that she has been weeded out. Paranoid and self centered.
She talked about suing the School Board for several millions because they reduced her authority as a Board member after she made several anti-Asian tweet remarks.

Okay, stop.

If there is one people group that is universally accepted and appreciated, it is Pacific Islanders.

Systemic barriers. Pfft.
