Plead the Fifth he is guilty in the press, make a statement and it will be twisted to imply he is guilty in the same press. Now should the AG's office claim that Trump's guilt is implied because he used the Fifth Amendment, as we learned in the Rittenhouse case, that can create a case of prosecutorial misconduct.
But again the vagaries of the law are such that none of what I understand to be real is real probably because we actually live in the Matrix.
None of which, of course, is true. Financial statements are not used by lenders to provide financing. Audits are required. Nor did the AG did find errors in audits, only possible exaggerations in PR statements of financial activity.
He should ask What difference, at this point, does it make?
And any bank that gives a loan based on the applicant’s valuation is already out of business. This is total BS just for nuisance value and blackening the Trump Brand.

The civil case is a fishing expedition to find evidence to bring criminal charges. A case searching for a crime. It demonstrates how thoroughly corrupt the “justice” system has become.

It’s a civil case, not a criminal. If he doesn’t testify in spite of a court order, he’d have his Answer stricken and lose by default. But there will be appeals of that order.
Then they get DeSantis in 24.
Even if he loses a civil case, it has no bearing on 2024. What’ll they do? Get a money judgment? He has money to spare, and even better, equity in prime real estate all over the world, having paid down mortgages for decades.
Concur. I know numerous people involved in Real Estate and everyone of them believes that their property is "extremely valuable."
My Mother was convinced that her rental houses were worth a fortune, despite the rent being barely adequate to cover the mortgages and repairs. Then she started selling them to finance her retirement. She had to severely downgrade her retirement plans.
All Trump has to say is the investigation is a witch hunt and send a letter asserting his 5th Amendment right to not testify, and that he didn’t commit any crimes or violations. Just because he is ordered to submit to a deposition does not mean he has to actually answer any questions, or he can answer them in a way that doesn’t respond to the questions.
