Scottie DeLashmit, the president of Tennessee State Lodge for the Fraternal Order of Police, said police officers in the state “spend countless hours” on the gun range honing their marksmanship skills and must qualify annually with the same weapons.
I’ve seen there training in a county near Nashville.
They practiced drawing there gun in 4 steps, even the faster
guys took about 2 seconds.
I think the average CCW holder practices more and probably
shoots better than most officers.

Yup. I’ve left a range before because of the unsafe habits of some ‘law enforcement officers’ who showed up.
20 years ago I used to go a range just outside the big city i lived in and play around with my 300 WM and the cops with their fancy rifles would freak out when they saw my targets compared to theirs.
Fast forward to several years ago when I finally got my LTC and instructor about shit himself over the pistol i brought but then really freaked when he realized I was point shooting and never looking at sights and scored perfect.
Years of practice—probably far more than 99% of law enforcement does, it’s not magic.
