WW2 was about freeing people from state sponsored oppression and this guy has no problem with forced submission to the state.

”Fought” might be a stretch. He joined the Atmy Air Corp. and was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant. Then he went to. I’ll Eve to study meteorology. No indication that he left CONUS.
