From the article:
“In a city with the lowest percentage of children of all major American cities, school board elections in San Francisco have often been an afterthought.”

Also, it sounds like they are counting the votes and people can still vote at drop boxes.

Obviously, ultraleftists will be replaced with ultraleftists, and this will continue to be the case, with the supermajority of U.S. cities.

Having read a few articles, it appears the parents were peaved off the board members were more interested in progressive pet project of re-naming schools with “divisive names” (Washington, Lincoln, Jefferson) and watering down the few excellent schools with merit requirements to let anyone in, rather than actually focus on improving the lower performing schools, getting kids back into classes, improving math, science, and reading skill scores.

I know, craziness.

Mayor gets to choose.

Anyhow it ends the campaign to change the names of 44 schools in San Francisco including:

Abraham Lincoln High School
Alamo Elementary School
Paul Revere Elementary School
Robert Louis Stevenson Elemtary School
even Diane Feinstein Elementary School

definately Cancel Culture

No, too woke, if you can believe that in SF. Their abortive plan to rename 40 schools for PC reasons was one of the focuses of the campaign. Another was their refusal to name a gay single father to an advisory board because he’s white and therefore not diverse enough

Don't ever vote for a candidate who is "endorsed by the teacher's union". They're working for the teacher's union not the students.

Make the phrase "Endorsed by the teacher's union" the kiss of death.

That’s a scary question to think about. I guess we’ll find out soon enough, because if the national Dems start changing their tunes on left-wing issues we’ll know internal polling isn’t in their favor.

I’ve found school board elections to be an afterthought almost everywhere. Maybe that will now change.

"Even the woke in San Francisco are waking up"

Hardly. Young Whoopi London Breed gets to appoint the replacements, until a special election, and yes the fillers can run.
