George Prescott Bush was just sixteen when he first took the political world by storm. The year was 1992, the setting the Republican National Convention at the Astrodome in Houston, where his grandfather would be nominated for reelection as president. On the third day of the convention, Barbara Bush, looking matriarchal and resplendent in a pearl necklace, invited her clan on stage, “all twenty-two of them.” There was P.’s uncle George W. Bush. His dad, Jeb, and his mom, Columba, who had met in her native Mexico when they were still in their teens. And a lot of young grandchildren, including a tot wearing an Enron hat. But the speaking slot was reserved for just one family member: “George P., our eldest grandson, from Miami, Florida.”
Young P. had the awkward swagger of a sixteen-year-old boy, but he delivered his lines with conviction. “In a presidential campaign, it’s hard for people to get a sense of what makes the candidates tick. The family is what makes my grandfather tick,” he said. Later, after he finished reading excerpts from a letter from his grandfather, the crowd broke into a chant: “George P.! George P.! George P.!” Jeb beamed. Seconds later, P.—named after his great-grandfather, U.S. senator Prescott Bush, from Connecticut—wrapped it up, improvising a “Viva Bush!” and a fist pump. A star was born.

See Jeb!'s successor Charlie Crist.
Will it die? It’s dead. W killed it.
He seems like an ok one. The acorn doesn’t fall far from the tree. A house seat may be in order to keep the legacy alive. Either that or follow the path of RFK Jr.
Just remember we turned to W in 2000 because we wanted a winner-2 big state Governor wins. It could be so bad someday we may have to scrape the bottom of the barrel for a candidate. It’s happened before and we tend to screw up big too often. Don’t be so mean to him.
Dubya is basically a Democrat now. So I think he has destroyed any chances of a viable political career for P.
There’s always P’s druggie sister.
One can only hope...
One assumes that the voters in whatever house district this guy should choose to run in will be more concerned with their own interests and less so with the legacy of some... uh, family.
I don’t know about that. Every time you turn over a rock here in Texas George P Bush is under it.
Oh, I thought he died. Except for his love for scottish terriers, we no longer have anything in common. I wish he would drop the pretence of being a republican. I see no shadow of his father in him.
I am an idiot. Sorry. I refute my previous comment. Woke up late.
GHWB really killed it by losing to Clinton in 1992.
As an alternative history exercise - imagine how the world would have been affected by a GHWB re-election that year. Bill Clinton would have been tossed on the ash heap of history (well, he would have one back to being Gov. of Arkansas - roughly the same thing.) We would not have had to suffer through Janet Reno, Monica Lewinski, Hillary Clinton, etc. All because GHWB wasn’t able or willing to engage the fight in 1992.
fake conservative, fake cowboy, everything about Bush was fake.
W bought that ranch in Crawford just before being elected, and has basically abandoned it since leaving office. It was all for show.
The fact is the Bush’s were all Yankees pretending to be Texan cowboys.
Let’s go,Bushites!
More like pretending to be Americans.
You forgot the best part. Clinton gaves missle technology to China! https://www.nytimes.com/1999/05/11/world/clinton-approves-technology-transfer-to-china.html
I’ll do my little part to end it, for what it’s worth.
The bush and clinton families just need to go away. Surely they both have plenty of wealth to enjoy.
I don’t care if “P” is the reincarnation of the Messiah. I will NEVER vote again for any Bush, period.
