Earlier this month, former US President Donald Trump chastised Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), referring to his longtime ally as a 'Republican in Name Only' (RINO) after the US lawmaker openly disagreed with him on whether a presidential pardon should be extended to Trump supporters prosecuted for participating in the January 6, 2021, insurrection.
Although the Republican nomination is reportedly Donald Trump's "for the taking" in 2024, the former US president should consider adopting talking points that aren't related to his 2020 loss to President Joe Biden, Sen. Lindsey Graham declared, during a Sunday appearance on ABC's "This Week."
"I am not contesting the 2020 election," Graham said, qualifying that there are election reforms that need to happen. "The 2020 election is over for me."
WHY does this guy/gal get so much attention? He’s pretty much always wrong, plus he’s one of the most unattractive humans in DC.
The people of SouthCarolina need to fixate on replacing Senator Graham with someone who has a conservative spine.
I just want to see this weasel swing . . .
Seems like Graham is fixated.
Pansy Graham is sitting pretty in his safe seat collecting his gigantic pay and enjoying gold star healthcare. Of course, he’s okay with moving on.
I know many. This focus will just result in another Democrat victory in 2024.
I’m convinced that our side doesn’t really want to win in 2024. Then after we hand Biden a second term, we’ll say that it was due to fraud…
Keep tilting at those windmills. Anyone with an ounce of objectivity can see that it isn’t going anywhere significant. Nobody of consequence is going to go to prison, and neither Congress nor the Supreme Court are going to wake up one morning, reverse the 2020 election, and declare Donald J. Trump the winner.
That's different from re-arguing the results from 2020.
I reached this same position a while ago. So Graham agrees with me. The best tactic for Trump to play now, since there is zero chance of the election being overturned, is to publicize the unfolding evidence of election tampering by Clinton in 2016. And as evidence of fraud from the 2020 key states mounts, make sure to focus on the facts as they are established. Let people react to that, and draw their own conclusion as to how honest 2020 really was.
Nobody at this point will have their opinion changed by simple assertions on his part that “we wuz robbed!” and it just makes him sound obsessed, not a good sound for the independent vote—which is disgusted already with Biden and ripe for the picking.
Even Democrats know the election was corrupted and a significant number of them question election integrity because even Democrats want their vote to count.
"Better luck next time" is propaganda from the Left.
If you think his best strategy to win in 2024 is to appeal to his core support by focusing on the 2020 election, and alienate the rest, I suppose that's fine. You just better hope that his core support alone is enough to win in 2024.
Trump’s agenda would be …
Fix the economy
Fix the military
Kill wokeism
Then enact as much revenge as humanly possible to hold evil accountable.

So...it's only President Trump's "hardcore" supporters who were cheated? Swing voters don't resent their vote being stolen? It's only his "core support" who'd support him in 2024?
How much is your company paying you to post propaganda on social media?
The people who voted for Trump in 2016 and/or 2020 are not monolithic. Some were Trump supporters from the beginning, some only voted for him because they though the alternative worse, and everything in between. They don't all agree on every issue. Some of those people want him to run again in 2024, and some don't. But if he does run, he is going to need to retain as many of those total votes as possible, and hopefully pick up more independents as well.
Assuming that every Trump voter thinks exactly the same about the 2020 election is being closed-minded.
So you, “basalt” (Post 19), “stanne” (Post 39), and the others sat around in a meeting. After the team shared their preferred pronouns, you went through canned narratives for “Orange Man Bad”. You also agreed which user account would make the first statement and which would follow up with “True Dat!” and “You Go Nonbinary!”.
People are going to jail for voter fraud. Several states are working through charges. Multiple communities are changing election law to prevent fraud and malfeasance. Cozy relationships where officials are paid offs to break and subvert existing law have been revealed. It is early days to be dogmatically asserting that there will be no punishment.
You are the ostrich here, not I.
No one has a crystal ball but sweeping cheating under the rug is treasonous and leads to breakdown of the people’s trust in Government and spawns more malfeasance. President Trump is doing the right thing to protect and defend America & our Constitution by insisting that the obvious fraud is exposed. It is that insistence that is driving the process, encouraging soul searching and the movement to more transparent and accountable elections. You cynicism may impress you but it appears more like apathy and a malignant fatalism to me.
“Whining about it 4 years after the fact isn’t going to win him any votes.”
Whining? Just forget about massive voter fraud. The voters don’t have a right to actually select their president. Let bygones be bygones. Who cares if the country is being destroyed by a demented old fool?
Be a good boy Trump and keep your mouth shut for the good of the country and don’t dare let the public know their vote never counted.
What a lousy attitude.
These can all be true at the same time:
1. The 2020 fiasco highlighted big problems with voting that MUST be corrected before the 2022 elections
2. Trump’s public voice will be most effective with the most voters if he is primarily talking about a positive agenda for the future (in contrast with the obviously insane Democrat agenda)
3. A lot of somewhat-conservative and independent voters will be turned off if all they hear this election cycle is Trump focusing on the past, on the stolen 2020 election.
Do you really believe you’re going to convince a majority of Americans, and sufficient majorities in Congress, to actually overturn the election and install Trump into office before the 2024 election?
