Turkey in NATO dates back to the early days of the Cold War. 1952.

Before ICBM missiles existed we had medium range nuclear armed Jupiter missiles deployed in Turkey and Italy.

The deal that John Kennedy cut in the Cuban Missile Crisis included removing our Jupiter missiles in exchange for the Soviets pulling their missiles out of Cuba.

You have the history correct. I’ve grown increasingly nervous about Turkey in NATO. There’s that ticklish Kurdish Question, and the demographic trends there indicate there may be interesting times ahead.

With this as the basis, Putin can wait for elections in Ukraine and put whomever he desires in power to influence the future. Russia and China thinks in terms of decades...FJB can’t think past bedtime.

Ukraine should not be in NATO.

There is no benefit to having Ukraine be in NATO.

We fought to get nuclear missiles removed from Cuba, and that’s 90 miles away from our country. Ukraine immediately borders Russia.

Let it stay neutral. There is no benefit to the world having cities in Ukraine blown up.

69% of Ukrainians want to join NATO, according to a June 2017 poll by the Democratic Initiatives Foundation

We should let them in. That’s what they want.

Who is we? What's in it for us?

This would solve everything, which is why the Swamp will try to stop it. They don’t give a F about Ukrainians. See them as cannon fodder.

Your privates overwhelmingly say they want sex with a woman who is not your wife.

Do you obey them?

Well, I’m an AmericaFirster Trumplican, so my viewpoint would be that we’d gain a good ally in NATO. That’s what’s in it for us. We’d get someone who needs NATO to stand up to Russian bullying just like Sudetenland needed sumthin like that when Hitler was bullying them — if we had not employed the policy of appeasement there coulda been 150 million lives saved.

Six years olds overwhelmingly agree vegetables should never be required for meals.

Do we stop trying to get them to eat vegetables?

There is nothing beneficial to us or Ukraine in having them in NATO.

If they get in NATO, Russia is more than appropriate to put nuclear weapons back in Cuba. Cuba doesn’t even border the US, so what’s the worry? We have nuclear weapons in Turkey, so they’d wind up in Ukraine at some point, too.

You want to mess with the bear, and for what benefit?

Wisest post here.

Everything is misinformation in a situation like this. Believe nobody and simply watch actions.

Trump didn't push for Ukraine to ever be in NATO, so you are a posing Trumplican position.

America First does not mean instigating unrest around the world with Russia. Another fake Trumplican position.

It was England that appeased Nazi Germany—not the US.

You are batting .000 today. Maybe you should sleep on it and tell us tomorrow morning what it is you actually stand for, Mr. Cheney.

we’d gain a good ally in NATO — if we had not employed the policy of appeasement there coulda been 150 million lives saved. Maybe we’d be saving 150 million more.

If they get in NATO, Russia is more than appropriate to put nuclear weapons back in Cuba.
***Okay, you finally came up with a reasonable analogy. How would we affirm the validity of elections in Cuba or even Ukraine? At least in my lifetime there’s never been a crisis with Ukraine but there sure as hell was with Cuba. The trade was getting rid of nuke weapons in Turkey. We already addressed Russia putting nukes in Cuba, so we have sumthin to rest on there.

Cuba doesn’t even border the US, so what’s the worry?
***We had that crisis 6 decades ago. The blockade worked.

We have nuclear weapons in Turkey,
***We do?

so they’d wind up in Ukraine at some point, too.
***How about letting a monitoring unit of Russians inside the Ukraine? They get to inspect for WMDs. Kinda like what we wanted with Iraq. If we had sumthin like that in place, maybe we coulda saved a couple of $Trillion and lotsa lives.

You want to mess with the bear, and for what benefit?
***You wanna appease the bear, and we already did that & 150 million lives were lost.
