Russia "doesn't give a s**t" about the risk of Western sanctions if it were to invade Ukraine, the country's ambassador to Sweden has said.
"Excuse my language, but we don't give a shit about all their sanctions," Viktor Tatarintsev told Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet in an interview published on Saturday.
"We have already had so many sanctions and in that sense they've had a positive effect on our economy and agriculture," the diplomat said, according to the AFP news agency.
It comes as President Joe Biden told Russia's Vladimir Putin during a phone call on Saturday that the U.S. was committed to diplomacy to end the crisis. But he also warned Putin that the U.S. and its allies would respond "decisively and impose swift and severe costs" if Russia attacked Ukraine.

It’s the “Continental System” which were sanctions that Napoléon imposed - against himself.
His idea of waging economic warfare against basically the rest of the world was to deny his adversaries any chance to export goods *to* France.

Any common-sense nationalist (which unfortunately, doesn't exist in DC) would say: "ok, I guess I'll we'll make it ourselves."
You assume Ukraine was/is a functional country. Rather, some kleptocrat / mafia in this new, failed nation of Ukraine would have sold them to the highest bidder. Instead of planes hitting NYC on 9/11, it would have been a nuke/dirty bomb.

No. The US has trained the Ukraine military to fire shoot n scoot Javelin tank killers and Stinger anti air manpads to shoot Russian choppers loaded with Russian invaders out of the sky.
He could literally let the U.S. launch an air strike on Russia assets in the Ukraine or on Russian territory, do absolutely nothing about and win.
I'll remind you of that when those Javelins and Stingers show up elsewhere.
