In the U.S, states of emergency are limited to 30 days without legislative action.

Not at the state level. It is being abused.
At least in the U.S., where our constitution makes this clear, it is time to remind the would-be tyrants that any powers they possess are temporary and are merely delegated to them by the People. They are not the “boss”, they’re working for the “boss”, and they put themselves and their interests in peril if they confuse being loaned some of the boss’s authority with actually being the boss. Going beyond that and thinking they can then use the boss’s power against him to kick him around should result in them losing their jobs, if not running for their lives.
