Russian military forces occupy Ukrainian territory. Let them leave and then let Ukraine choose their own path.

You're talking about "discussion" with a gangster regime. The troop buildup, the threats of nuclear war, the natural gas blackmail, all show that this is not about "discussion." It's about forcing Europe to isolate Ukraine so as to facilitate its rape.
I do not agree with you...it’s not about what you have described. Putin and Ukraine understand their differences. So you and I will not see this situation in the same light.
Further Europe won’t isolate Ukraine....but if they really wanted it, and if Russia really wanted it, none of this would be happening. he fact is nobody wants to assume responsibility for the failed state of Ukraine.
It’s certainly an option all sides should discuss. Unfortunately there too many complications and various groups within Ukraine unwilling to make compromises....which is why every solution agreed on falls flat.

Neutrality is not possible for the Ukraine.
Russia and Ukraine are sister entities descended from Kievan Rus, but still distinct. Moscow views Ukraine as a breakaway state while the Ukrainians increasingly feel separate. And Putin’s grab of Crimea only accelerated that feeling of separation.

There was constant fighting ad deaths of soldiers and civilians I the Donbas region since 2014. The war never stopped. Putin is now threatening openly as he is desperate to keep Russian people’s attention away from the economic crisis.
True neutrality for Ukraine is like asking Tibet to have true neutrality
