Me thinks it’s simpler...it was just a question and they aren’t allowed (unless it’s about his favorite ice cream flavor).

...it was a decent question from someone other than one of his lap dogs. Lester is supposed to be asking him things like “How do you keep so fit”? and “You realize you’re an inspiration to us all, don’t you sir”? Stuff like that.
