No one ever develops full natural immunity from the flu. Or from colds. You develop a reasonable amount of protection and the various changes in the flu and cold viruses means you’ll probably get sick again. But almost never fatally sick.

I think COVID will play out the same way.

Another aspect: The huge majority of people who catch COVID survive fine. WE ALREADY HAVE A LARGE DEGREE OF IMMUNITY. But a few people, 3-5 days into COVID, take a turn for the worse.

My theory is that genetics and/or comorbidities open one up to taking that turn for the worse. If you’ve had COVID and are largely in the same physical condition, then any subsequent COVID will - much like the flu - provoke a similar reaction. IOW, if you survived COVID fine, then you will if & when you catch it again. Regardless of the variant.

Those of us who have survived fine are likely to be among the 300+ million Americans who were NEVER AT RISK. AND NEVER WILL BE. At this point, there is something to be said for intentionally infecting people with Omicron and then monitor them to a bad reaction - which would then be treated aggressively with every drug we’ve got. Including “horse paste”.

Omicron IS the real “booster”! Thank God!
